AP Internships

An internship at Absolute Performance can help prepare you for just about any job in the health and fitness industry, including the possibility of joining our performance team. Many of our interns are now leading the way in the field as established physical therapists, division 1, 2, and 3 strength and conditioning coaches, gym owners, chiropractors, and physical prep coaches.

Our Internship consists of between 12 and 16 week increments of hands on learning, depending on time of year. From day one you will be observing proper coaching techniques from how to cue athletes, leading warm-ups and training sessions, programming, and our individualized assessment process. Our focus moves quickly to hands on interaction with members, learning different approaches and strategies that our staff uses in order to train the variety of people we work with. This includes everyone from athletes looking to improve sport performance to general population members looking to improve daily living, fitness, and health.

Additionally, interns are provided weekly articles, assignments, and staff in-services focusing on a variety of topics in the health and fitness industry. Each week we focus on a different aspect of building a more complete coach and therefore allowing you to build more complete athletes and members. In addition, it is highly recommended that our interns spend time doing research and presentations of their own choosing to focus on topics that interest them most in this field or could potentially make them or the facility better.  We expect our interns to have passion, eagerness to learn, good listening skills, read frequently, and to ask a ton of questions.

By the end of your internship you will be well versed in the assessing, programming, training, and general management of athletes of all ages and skill levels.
